The initial idea that I came up with is a car chase scene were some sort of mysterious government agents are chasing down aliens. After an intense chase scene and some foreshadowing, some kind of supernatural force, recognizing the aliens as friends, will then intervene and allow them to escape. The agents will be driving stereotypical black SUVs and the aliens will be driving a red pick up truck so that the color stands out and so that I can fit three aliens in the front seat. The supernatural rescuer will most likely be some kind of dryad (tree spirit) because that allows me to use plants to foreshadow the rescue.

I'm planning to use photoshop for the car heavy scenes, as not having to draw cars will cut down on the amount of time substantially. I'm planning on using illustrator for the aliens and agents to have a more illustrative look. The background I haven't decided on yet, but will likely be made using a mix of the two software's. If I incorporate text anywhere, it would be in the license plates, but that's something I would be deciding on later.

Below you can see an initial rough story board of the narrative. There will be at least fourteen pages, and a front and back cover. I've decided on a half page size, so that each picture will be relatively large without having the zine be giant or using too much paper. By building up the images in different software's, I'll be able to create rough images and then build up more detail as time permits.
